It will take approximately 1 hour to heat to boiling temperature. This differs depending on the material you use. But a good guide is as follows:\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eRosemary - Use 300 g of rosemary leaves and 3.65 litres of water (don't fill over the max amount). Turn the Air Still on, collect the distillate (preferable in fractions). We recommend collecting no more than 80% (3 litres) otherwise it will boil dry and cook the rosemary.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eYou will collect 3 litres of hydrosol (water\/flavour) and a small amount of oil on top - the essential oils. Use a pipette to collect the essential oil. If you're going to make alcohol from this afterwards, boil 2-3 lots of water through it first otherwise your alcohol will smell like rosemary.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003c\/ul\u003e\u003ch4\u003eHow do I distil water?\u003c\/h4\u003e\u003cp\u003eBefore use, clean the inside of the still and fill it with clean water to the 4 litre line which is marked on the inside. Make sure that no water is spilt on the outside of the body and ensure that both electrical sockets are clean and dry.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cli\u003eFit the top cover of the still in place and plug the fan lead into the socket in the still body.\u003c\/li\u003e\u003cli\u003ePlace a 4 litre collection jug under the outlet nozzle.\u003c\/li\u003e\u003cli\u003ePress the reset button on the base of the still.\u003c\/li\u003e\u003cli\u003eConnect the main power cord between the still and the mains power socket.\u003c\/li\u003e\u003cli\u003eTurn on the mains power socket switch.\u003c\/li\u003e\u003cli\u003eYou will hear the fan in the top cover of the still start.\u003c\/li\u003e\u003cli\u003eIt will take about 1½ hours for the water to heat up.\u003c\/li\u003e\u003cli\u003eOnce distillation starts, water will begin to drip into the collection bottle.\u003c\/li\u003e\u003cli\u003eThe still will take about 10 hours to distil off the 4 litres (1 US gallon) .\u003c\/li\u003e\u003cli\u003eThe power supply reset switches off automatically when the distillation is completed.\u003c\/li\u003e\u003cli\u003eYou will need to press the reset button on the base of the still before you next use it.\u003c\/li\u003e\u003cli\u003eAfter distillation the water needs to be polished. We recommend filtering the distilled water through a Still Spirits Air Still Carbon Filter.\u003c\/li\u003e\u003ch4\u003eUsing the Infusion Basket\u003c\/h4\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe Still Spirits Air Still has a hole under the lid where the vapour enters and condensers in the cooling coil before coming out as liquid alcohol.
